About Vail Mountain
Vail Mountain is the #1 ski resort in North America, and for good reason!
Vail caters to every type and ability of skier/rider. With 5,289 skiable acres, Vail boasts three distinct skiing acres: the Front-Side, the legendary Back Bowls, and Blue Sky Basin. Each section of the mountain has its own features and fortes including terrain parks, wide-open bowls, family skiing areas, beginner and learning terrain, and advanced/expert skiing areas.

Let the friendly and knowledge staff at the Mountain Information Center help you experience Vail at its best. They can help you with anything from lessons at the Snowsports School to on-mountain dining to great family fun. Regarless of the inquiry, these amazing people will help point you in the right direction.
EXPLORE MOUNTAIN DINING
Vail is known for its skiing, but also for its amazing high-altitude dining. Vail serves natural, hormone-free meats and poultry as well as organic dairy products in all seven of the casual on-mountain restaurants. Vail has made some recent improvements to its burger as well as to the dining menu, adding tasty and affordable options for everyone.
MOUNTAIN SAFETY
With such an abundance of skiing and riding terrain, Vail strives to provide one of the safest skiing and riding resorts in the world. Vail has consistently been recognized as a leader in safety on the slopes. Through education and enforcement, Vail makes the safety of its guests and its employees a top priority daily.
Vail uses Henry, the Vail Ski Patrol Avalanche Dog, and Pork Chop, the Vail Mountain Safety Pig, to help educate skiers and riders about safety on the mountain.
ENVIRONMENT
Vail continues to set the bar for environmental stewadship in the skiing and travel industries with their ongoing efforts to offset and reduce energy usage. Vail received the second annual Gold Leader award from the State of Colorado's Environmental Leadership Program in 2008 and continues to create, test, and implement new environmental programs.
